What a celebration at Jisaku can be

01 Legacy

A record of the family

Two families meet here for the engagement. A few years later a child’s first shrine visit is celebrated in the same house, and at shichi-go-san the same garden is out of the window. And one day, a parent’s kanreki or a golden wedding.

Celebrating in the same place, again and again, the story gets deeper each time — and what we hope is that Tsukiji Jisaku becomes the place your family can always come back to.

02 Culture

Japanese culture, as a gift

A building that has aged into itself, the way a room is dressed, colour in the food because of what is in season, the way a nakai moves when she carries a tray. A Japanese sense of beauty that ordinary days rarely put in front of you — here you meet it with all five senses.

A bright memory of a day like that becomes something a child keeps. That, too, is part of what we can give.

03 Gratitude

Thanks that outruns the words

The gratitude and respect you never quite manage to say to parents or grandparents. The place itself says it for you, and says it better.

The lift you feel passing through the gate, the calm the garden gives back, food and service with real thought behind them. All of it stands in for the thanks you came to give.

Frequently asked questions

Q What is the minimum number of guests?

Two or more.

Q Can you prepare food for children?

Yes — celebratory trays and children's kaiseki, pitched to the child's age. Allergies and dislikes are handled individually, so tell us what we need to know. Three grades are available: matsu (¥7,700), take (¥5,500) and ume (¥2,200). Please choose to suit the child's age and taste.

Q Can you arrange gifts for guests to take home?

Yes, we can.
Ask us about what is available.

Q May we bring a cake or flowers?

We are sorry, but food and drink brought in from outside, cakes included, cannot be accepted. We can make a dessert plate with a name or a message on it, and hope you will use it. Flowers we are glad to take in beforehand and bring out at the right moment.

Q What if a guest has dietary restrictions?

Yes. We cater for allergies, vegetarian diets and the like. If you give us the details when you book, the head chef will prepare a menu suited to you.

Q Can you call a taxi at the end of the evening?

Yes. If you mention it when you book, a chauffeured car can be arranged as well.
