Tsukiji Jisaku

Let the place itself
speak for the brand

Beyond a Venue

Not a room for hire —
a stage for your brand

Founded in 1931, in a sukiya house built as the Mitsubishi Iwasaki family's villa, with a 2,600㎡ Japanese garden.
Something a hotel ballroom cannot supply, and a heritage building let out for the day cannot either.

And Jisaku is a working ryotei: hot food from our own kitchen, a nakai for each room,
projector, sound and Wi-Fi — heritage-grade standing and a ryotei's hospitality, under one roof.

The event, the meetings, dinner and a Japanese cultural programme, all in one place.
Jisaku is a strategic stage that adds to what your brand is worth.

Three things this venue gives an event

Three Values
Why Tsukiji Jisaku for Events

A stage with no substitute anywhere else

  • 一Authenticity

    A space
    nobody can imitate

The sukiya house left on the site of the Mitsubishi Iwasaki villa, a 2,600㎡ pond garden, and 150 koi. An authenticity no new hotel or convention centre can reproduce, which tells your brand's story without a single prop.

  • 二Hybrid

    Heritage standing with
    a ryotei's MICE capability

Hot food from our own kitchen, a nakai for each room, projector, sound and Wi-Fi, and a hundred-mat main hall (up to 120 guests). Every constraint that usually comes with a heritage venue is solved by a working ryotei.

  • 三Experience

    Japanese culture
    your guests remember

Geisha and traditional instruments, tea ceremony, kabuki kumadori, a fish-cutting show. Registration, the event, meetings, dinner and the cultural programme all finish in one building — which deepens both engagement and attachment to the brand.

Zoning and layout model

Zoning & Layout

We divide the 2,600㎡ site into four zones and optimise how guests move through it. From arrival to the event, the meetings and back-of-house — a functional layout that finishes in one building.

Guest route: A registration → B event and presentation → C meetings in private rooms → on to dinner. D sits apart from the main hall as back-of-house.

Zone A — Entrance

Registration and cloakroom

A registration desk set up in the entrance hall, with cloakroom, invitation checks and name badges. Coaches can pull up at the door (please confirm in advance), so even a large arrival runs smoothly.

Zone B — Main Hall

Main hall

The 154㎡ hall as your main venue. A ceremony stage, display and experience space, demonstrations — set up as you need. Projector, screen and sound are in place for presentations.

Zone C — Private Rooms

Meeting rooms and VIP lounge

Several private rooms next to the main hall serve as meeting rooms — from a confidential conversation between two people to a group of thirty. They also work as a VIP lounge for receiving particular guests separately.

Zone D — Backstage

Media and crew rooms

Private rooms held as a media interview room, crew room and equipment store. Production office, changing room and holding area can all sit apart from the main hall.

※ The diagram above is one example of zoning. For the actual layout of the building (nineteen rooms and the garden), see the floor map on the rooms and garden page.

Japanese experiences that colour the day

Cultural Hospitality

Give your guests something that stays with them. Through our partnership with Shinnichiya, "concierge of Japanese culture", we can stage geisha and traditional instruments, tea ceremony and kabuki, all on site. Together with Sumiike, the light and sound piece begun for our 95th anniversary, they turn your brand's day into an experience nobody forgets.

芸

Geisha and
live traditional music

Parlour games with geisha, or koto and Tsugaru shamisen played live. They give a reception or its background music a quality of air that moves guests from abroad especially.

技

Cultural sessions
guests take part in

Tea ceremony, kabuki kumadori, kimono dressing, making wagashi, kintsugi, calligraphy, Edo tezuma. Doing something together is what binds a team and moves an audience.

宴

Food as theatre,
and dinner afterwards

A fish-cutting show performed in front of your guests, celebration sushi with a whole sea bream. Then straight into a kaiseki dinner or a standing reception — and our mizutaki as a gift on the way out.

Frequently asked

Frequently Asked
  • Can we build display stands?

Stands can be built in the main hall (154㎡). Punch carpet is laid over the tatami and the fixtures set on top. We will explain the protection rules in advance.

  • Can we load in and rehearse the day before?

Load-in the day before, set-up on the morning and rehearsal are all supported. The route for large equipment can be checked in advance. Access and wrap times are open to discussion.

  • How many private rooms are there for meetings?

Several rooms taking 2 to 30 people. They can be used at the same time as meeting rooms, a VIP lounge and a media interview room.

  • Can we take the whole building exclusively?

As well as taking the whole house, you may hire part of it. To suit the size of your party and your budget, we will propose the best way to use the whole 800-tsubo grounds as your own private space.

  • Do you have a projector and sound equipment?

A projector, screen, wireless microphones and speakers are available. For setting up equipment you bring in, please ask us separately. Sound and microphone availability varies by room, so please check with us in advance.

  • Can we hold a dinner reception after the event?

When the event finishes, you can move straight into a kaiseki dinner. Event, meetings and dinner finishing in one place is Jisaku's strength.

  • How do you look after guests from abroad?

English-speaking staff on site and materials in English, plus vegetarian, vegan and allergy requirements handled person by person.
