What is a marriage ceremony?
Yui'u is a traditional Japanese ceremony in which both families formally confirm their commitment to marry.
In contrast, a "meeting" is a dinner party for both families to deepen their friendship, and there is no set format.
The choice between the two is generally based on the wishes and intentions of both families, depending on whether they wish to emphasize formal ceremonies or deepen their friendship with a relaxed dinner.
be held at a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant)
Safe and Secure Conclusion
Tsukiji Jisaku offers a plan that allows both families to have a safe and comfortable conclusion of the marriage ceremony. We have prepared a "Yuneno-shi," an easy-to-understand guidebook that explains the traditional steps of a traditional betrothal ceremony, to guide even first-time guests through the process.
The private room allows your family to have their own space, so you can proceed with the ceremony calmly and without worrying about your surroundings. Please spend an important moment to deepen the bond between the two families with gorgeous dishes that only an authentic ryotei restaurant can offer.

The specialty dish is made by only one chef, who believes that "the taste will change if more than one person cooks it" and has made it his signature dish. The only ingredients are chicken and water. The technique was created to bring out the original charm of the chicken, and the whole chicken is used from head to toe without wasting anything. Even now, more than 90 years after its establishment, only one mizutaki keeper continues to preserve the taste of the chicken.
Introduction of Knots
Yuna is a traditional Japanese ceremony in which both families formally exchange betrothal gifts.
Each of the "betrothal gifts" exchanged at that time has its own auspicious meaning.
Typical knots and their meanings are as follows.
- Noshi (a thin strip of dried sea-ear or paper attached to a gift)Abalone: Dried abalone called "noshi abalone". Wishes for long life and prosperity.
- SurumeIt means "long-lasting happiness" because the more you chew, the more flavor comes out.
- KelpKelp. Wishes for "good luck" and "prosperity of offspring".
- Katsuo BushiSymbolizes: strength and longevity of military fortune.
- Tomoshiraga: White linen thread. Represents a couple staying together until they both turn gray.
- SuehiroFan: A fan. Means prosperity in the last days.
- YANAGI DARU: alcohol. The wish that the house will prosper and that much joy will come to it.
As "lucky charms," these symbolize prosperity in marriage, longevity, and offspringhood.
Yuninohin is "a good-luck gift that unites a couple and brings prosperity to both families.
In the Kanto and Kansai regions, the number of items and the formality of the ceremony are more formal in the Kanto region, whereas in the Kansai region, the decorations are more flamboyant and lavish. In addition, "short-form" ceremonies are also common.
It would be a good idea to discuss this with your family and make a decision.
